God of War TV Series Script – At the CES 2024 event yesterday, Sony shared some information during their panel. The company explained various things and outlined their plans for the upcoming years.
A Sony representative has now confirmed that the script for the God of War TV Series is currently in the works. And it is likely that the adaptation of the game featuring the main character Kratos will be similar to The Last of Us.
Lately, it has been revealed that Sony does indeed have plans to expand the PlayStation franchise into various types of multimedia. This plan has proven to be highly successful, as seen with the popularity of Uncharted and The Last of Us.
Sony’s First Party games are crafted like interactive movies, so it’s no surprise that these exclusive games can translate well into films or television series.
With the confirmation of the God of War TV Series script being in development, it is evident that Sony is planning to bring Kratos into other forms of media for a broader audience.
However, as of now, it is still unknown which part of the story will be used as the starting point for this TV series. Many speculate that the narrative may be drawn from the Norse mythology arc or the 2018 God of War installment rather than the original series set in Olympus.
In addition to announcing the God of War TV Series, Sony also provided another equally interesting piece of information. Katherine Pope, the President of Sony Pictures Television, explained that apart from Kratos, Horizon Zero Dawn is also currently in the writing stage. This series will be worked on or produced by the familiar platform, Netflix.
Currently, Sony has brought Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Twisted Metal, and The Last of Us to other media. It’s not surprising that their latest games like God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn are being prepared to follow suit.
As of now, there is still no information about the cast who will portray Kratos. Could it be possible that wrestlers like Dwayne Johnson or Batista will take on the role? Or will Christopher Judge himself be involved?
